Experience

After finishing college, I decided to get into education because I enjoyed working with kids and wanted to excite future generations about getting involved with science. I taught at the middle school level for roughly 8 years. After this time, I decided I wanted to try something new and interesting, and moved to California to be a camp director for Steve and Kate’s Camp; a unique education based camp with a collaborative auto-didactic approach. After my time in California, I moved back to Illinois and am now a Laboratory Manager at the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy. Although I no longer have my own classroom, I have (for the past 10 years) always enjoyed maintaining that connection with kids and continuing to share my love of Science through tutoring.
